Cathy Strite – Pastoral Ministry
Cathy moved to South Carolina from Pennsylvania with her husband, Mike, in 2010 to semi-retire. She has an under graduate degree in Sociology, and a Masters in Psychosocial Science. She has worked with the YWCA, Girls Club of America, and Family Planning Council of Central PA while she served as an adjunct Professor of Sociology at a local college. Cathy has helped build a family group tour business and continues to work part time.
Cathy is a lifelong Christian (who like so many) has struggled with the “whys”, the “what ifs”, and “what nows” that get in the way of trusting God completely. She has served on previous church Councils (Vestry), many committees, as well as a spoke person for a church Capitol Campaign. God led Cathy and Mike to St Paul’s Church five years ago and the Spirit engulfed them. Thirst for knowledge and the fire to serve God and his children compelled her into action. Being called to work in the ministry was a blessing, privilege, and quite humbling.
The ministry that Cathy leads is an extension of the clergy to help and care for the congregation. This expanding ministry includes visits to the home, delivered meals, hospital visits, communion, funeral planning, receptions, and card ministry. God has blessed Cathy in many ways, and she feels especially blessed to serve God at St Paul’s Church.
